2008: STAYING TRUE TO THE MISSION
The focus of my year as President of Toronto CREW is all about making an already good association great. I believe that means staying true to our mission, always making sure we're relevant to our members, and not being afraid to stop or change any programming that doesn't work.
After all, from where I sit, our members, our sponsors and our programs are the beating heart of the organization.
But there are some big shoes to fill and pinpointing our strategic priorities for 2008 isn't that simple. We've accomplished so much already.
We're financially sound, consistently have a high-powered membership base of 180, and generate around $60,000 a year in sponsorship.
Just in the last year, we've launched our fresh new website, awarded five scholarships for young women wanting to study real estate disciplines, and raised over $85,000 at our annual golf tournament. We launched a successful mentorship program that will continue in 2008. We went a step further in our commitment to community outreach and founded the Toronto CREW Foundation.
So what's in store for 2008? I've pinpointed the three goals I'd like to achieve in my year as President.
The first is a strong focus on communications, both within the organization and externally.
The second is an ongoing engagement with members' ideas and input, to recognize what programs and events are most relevant to their needs. The third is an active effort to enhance stakeholder benefits - both in traditional ways and in creative, new ways.
It's going to be a great, successful year at Toronto CREW and I look forward to leading the organization through it, with the support of an amazing and knowledgeable team of directors, committee chairs, vice chairs and our committed volunteers.
Most importantly, let me leave you with one last thought: Don't forget to enjoy and HAVE FUN!
Best regards,
Andrea Kraus
2008 President
