TORONTO CREW HOSTS 3RD ANNUAL REAL JOBS FOR
YOUNG WOMEN INTERESTED IN REAL ESTATE CAREERS
For the third year in a row, the Toronto chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) is hosting a high-powered REAL Jobs event, aimed at providing young women the information they need about careers in a wide range of commercial real estate disciplines. Scheduled for April 23, 2008 at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University, the day provides a unique forum for Grade 11 students to network, attend information sessions, and pose their own questions at one of many Q&As.
"We are really excited about introducing 60 to 100 young women to the array of career choices on offer to them," says Lisa Lafave, REAL Jobs Chair.
"Especially because they may not be aware that these real estate careers even exist, let alone be accessible to them."
Toronto CREW realizes that Grade 11 students are just starting to explore educational and career opportunities, and believes that senior women in the industry can play a constructive role in providing insight, advice and wisdom. Professionals available to talk to students come from fields as diverse as law, asset management, portfolio management, design and architecture, to name a few.
"REAL Jobs gives these young women a real chance to engage with senior executives in the industry," adds Lisa Lafave.
"Toronto CREW members will donate their time to be on hand at REAL Jobs, allowing students to quiz them about their individual career paths and the educational choices they made to get them there."
